Pelham, NY – The Pelham Civics Association, one of Westchester County’s leading volunteer charitable organizations since 1939, is proud to announce Dan W. McLaughlin and Tina Constable as the 2024 Persons of the Year. This prestigious honor will be formally presented at the Association’s Annual Fall Gala, scheduled for October 25th, 2024, at the elegant Surf Club in New Rochelle.
Dan W. McLaughlin, a steadfast volunteer and leader within the Pelham community, has served on the Town Board since 2009 and has been Town Supervisor for the last five years, during which he was instrumental in launching the first Town ambulance service. With over 30 years of involvement in the Pelham Civic Association, including terms as Chairman and President, Dan’s contributions span various capacities from financial oversight to event organization, profoundly impacting our community’s quality of life. Dan was also a long term volunteer in all of Pelham recreation sports including six years of serving on the Town’s Recreation Commission, including two years as the Recreation Commission chairman.
Tina Constable, renowned for her initiative “Thanksgiving In A Box,” has transformed a modest outreach into a vital community service impacting thousands annually. Over two decades, Tina has evolved the project from a single meal offering to a robust program that provides essential food supplies to families, enhancing their wellbeing during the Thanksgiving season. Her leadership in this program is a testament to her dedication to community service and civic responsibility.
The selection of Mr. McLaughlin and Ms. Constable recognizes their exceptional commitment to the Pelham community, particularly in supporting the youth, elderly, and those in need. Their efforts embody the spirit of community service and exemplify the core values of the Pelham Civics Association.
The Fall Gala will not only celebrate these remarkable individuals but also raise crucial funds to support the continued work of the Pelham Civics Association. For more information, tickets, or to make a donation, please contact Fall Gala Chair Maurice Owen-Michaane at maurice@pelhamcivics.org.
